Product Uses

Starting seeds
Plant seeds directly into compost and keep moist. The seedlings are hardier than those started in other media. A hardy seedling means a healthy plant.

Transplanting
When planting seedlings in the ground, put compost in the boottom of the hole before placing the plant in. Compost is excellent for root growth, especially tender new roots.

Mulching
Instead of bark, use Surf n' Turf as mulch around flowers and trees. No need to rake it up in the spring. Just work it into the soil and mulch with fresh compost.

Lawns and topdress
Re-seeding lawns is easy with compost. Start by raking the ground. Broadcast seed. Spread a thin layer of compost instead of mulch hay and keep it moist. No hay to rake up and the soil is healthy and the grass will be lush. Topdress lawns in spring. Broadcast compost 1/2 inch thick over lawn and water.
